Find New “Places” to Grow

Next level

“Don’t shrink yourself to fit into places that you have outgrown.” Anonymous

Life is always inviting us to reach, stretch, and grow. Sometimes we accept the invitation with a wholehearted yes, and sometimes we decline the invitation through indecision and inaction and stay in places (e.g., jobs, relationships, situations, etc.) that we have outgrown. Although these places may not be ideal, they are familiar, comfortable, known.

We usually know it’s time for a change long before we take action. Inner promptings for change are often experienced as restlessness, dissatisfaction, or a desire/longing for something more. If you relate to any of these feelings, take time to listen to your inner voice and be willing to find new “places” to grow. It might mean finding a more challenging job, new friendships, or new ways for you and your mate to grow.

Progress requires change, and change begins to happen when you leave your comfort zone.

If this post resonates with you, I invite you to reflect on the following questions.

  • Where in my life am I shrinking myself to fit into places that I have outgrown?
  • What do I need to believe and do to grow?
  • What is one thing I can do [today] to support my growth?

2018: Create a New Chapter

“And suddenly you just know…it’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.”

Meister Eckhart

A new year provides us with the opportunity to begin a new chapter in our lives. To get the most out of your new beginning, spend some time bringing 2017 to a close. Here are a few questions for reflection.

  • What did I accomplish in 2017?
  • What didn’t I accomplish that I really wanted to? Why?
  • Who or what was my greatest blessing? Why?
  • What is complete in my life and ready to be released so that I can begin a new chapter in 2018?

What are you inspired to begin this year? Declare it in the comment section below.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2018.

Spring: Start Fresh

spring green

Each season brings gifts and opportunities for growth as we journey through the year.

Spring is a season of hope and possibility.

On a personal level, spring invites us to start fresh, be hopeful, joyful, creative, and open to possibility.

There are many ways to embrace the spirit of the season give thanks for the gift of renewal, create new commitments, plant new seeds (literally and figuratively), spend time in nature, try something new just to name a few.

The spring rituals of cleaning and clearing out clutter are great ways to transition into the energy of the season and make room for new beginnings, new opportunities, and new blessings to come into your life.

Questions for reflection:

  • In what area of your life do you feel a desire to start fresh/begin anew?
  • What steps can you take to make room for something new?

2017: Create a New Chapter in Your Life

A new year provides us with the opportunity to begin a new chapter in our lives. We open the door to new opportunities and new beginnings when we release/let go of thoughts and beliefs that limit us and replace them with thoughts and beliefs that enrich, expand, empower, and enable us to create the kind of lives and world that we truly desire.

Our minds are fertile ground. The seeds we choose to plant and nurture will take root and blossom in our lives.

I invite you to join me in planting “seeds” of unity, peace, love, compassion, and joy. Commit to nurturing these seeds on a daily basis through your thoughts, words, and actions to enrich your life, the lives of others, and the world.

Wishing you all the best in 2017.

Happy New Year!
